Key Advantech Highlights at NAB 2017

Meet Advantech at NAB17

››

Virtual reality and 360 degree video fully transforms viewers’ experience, but they also bring profound changes to the way video is captured and processed. Visit the Advantech booth to experience just how hyper immersive VR live streaming feels using ultra-high resolutions. The demonstration based on the award-winning VEGA-3304 8K HEVC encoding accelerator and on our partner Hyper Immersion Technology solution uses a VR HTC VIVE headset to show high quality content streamed from a 360° camera at the booth.

››

The VEGA-3304 will also be demonstrated in a groundbreaking 1RU 8Kp60 HEVC broadcast encoder configuration that will show the clear, life-like resolution we can expect from next-generation TV services.

Service providers and media companies are moving to cloud-based architectures to improve operational efficiency, but the performance of software-only encoding is still an issue, especially for live video processing at high resolutions. At NAB, we will unveil the world’s first 8-channel 4Kp60 HEVC/AVC real-time encode and transcode accelerator card that brings unprecedented density to large-scale cloud deployments being able to handle up to 32 UHD transcodes per rack unit. The impressive performance of the new VEGA-3318 comes in a low power GPU-size PCI Express format that can be easily integrated into Linux and Windows applications in standard IT servers and data center equipment significantly improving scalability, space efficiency, and capability of cloud media solutions.

››

Also stop by our booth to see the multiscreen transcoding demonstration powered by the VEGA-3310, a 2-channel 4Kp60 encoder and transcoder card launched at IBC 2016 that is based on the same low-latency processing technology as the new VEGA-3318, and book a meeting with us to start planning for your VEGA-3318 accelerated cloud solutions.

The industry is looking ahead to an all-IP future driven by both UHD and the universal flexibility of an IP based infrastructure. Meet us at NAB to discuss your migration path towards interoperable IP media solutions that follow roadmaps agreed by the industry through alliances such as AIMS. Our IP media platforms are optimized for low latency IP transmission according to standards such as SMPTE 2110, visually lossless compression and SDI support for hybrid installations. The IP media demo at NAB will showcase different UHD live production VEGA use cases including 4K HEVC contribution over IP and 4K TICO light-compression with clean IP switching. Visitors will also be able to get an early glimpse of 100GbE switching with our Top-of-the-Rack switch which supports OpenFlow for SDN deployment.

››

Also on show, our small HEVC/AVC encoding modules that enable UHD live streaming over wireless and mobile networks. Book a meeting with us to learn how the VEGA-2001 modules can be embedded in a wide range of applications from self-broadcasting devices that stream video to Facebook or YouTube to wireless professional systems for anywhere broadcasting.
